This article attempts to describe the relations between the United States of America (USA) and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) in 1994-2011 as a hybrid cold war. Kim Jong-Il's leadership during this period is marked by mounting tensions over nuclear and missile armaments. The article compares the key factors of the US-Korean crisis to the characteristics of the cold war and hybrid warfare.
