Abstrakty

EN

One of interpretative conventions of contemporary terrorism is its interactive and communicative approach. Referring to G.H. Mead’s, E. Goffman’s and J. Turner’s theories, the author assumes that the relations between terrorizing and terrorized structures occur in the process of symbolic interactions. Terrorist activities understood in this way, particular terrorist attacks especially, make up a peculiar kind of actions or counteractions in which death, wounds, destruction is a means of expression, whereas an attack on a bus full of passengers becomes a peculiar communique directed not to the victims but to a wide audience who receive images and Information on terrorist acts from mass media. The other addressee who has the primary recipient’s status of such messages are important decision-making entities (authorities).
