Problems connected with organisation and conducting of ABC defence endeavours in German army land forces have been discussed in the article. In the introduction, the author reminds the definition and endeavours of ABC defence. Then the ABC defence assets are discussed next. Special attention is paid to the battalion organisation of the ABC defence, report-warning service, its elements and tasks performed by these forces. Also the characteristics of basic equipment, necessary to perform these tasks is given. Preparing ABC defence by commanders and function people of selective commanding levels and working out combat documents have been discussed The last topic mentioned in the article concerns implementing ABC defence endeavours. The individual and communal protection, functioning of contamination reconnaissance system and the principles of decontamination have also been described.
