Abstrakty

W artykule przeanalizowano wpływ klimatu oraz warunków meteorologicznych na działania militarne zgrupowań lądowych i powietrznych w Iraku. Przedstawiono organizację i znaczenie służby meteorologicznej podczas operacji „Pustynna burza”. Zbadano, w jaki sposób odbiorcy z różnych rodzajów sił zbrojnych wykorzystywali informacje o warunkach meteorologicznych i jak wpłynęło to na działania militarne. Na podstawie wspomnień dowódców, żołnierzy i meteorologów wskazano główne elementy wsparcia meteorologicznego i ich wpływ na powodzenie operacji.

The article analyses the impact of climate and meteorological conditions on the military operations of land and air forces in Iraq. It presents the organization and significance of meteorological support during Operation Desert Storm. The study examines how personnel from various branches of the armed forces utilized meteorological information and how it influenced military activities. Based on the accounts of commanders, soldiers, and meteorologists, the key elements of meteorological support and their impact on the success of the operation are identified.
