Przedstawiono rezultaty analizy zmian liczby wypadków i wskaźników charakteryzujących ich ofiaro chłonność na drogach różnej kategorii. Wyznaczono charakterystyki liczbowe, opisujące obecny stan zagrożeń na drogach poszczególnych kategorii jednego z województw i porównano z tendencjami, jakie są charakterystyczne dla całej Polski. Wartości wskaźników, które charakteryzują zagrożenie wypadkowe w transporcie rozważono w przedziale lat 2002 – 2010. Rok 2002 przyjęto jako podstawę obliczeń. Najwyższe zagrożenie występuje na drogach krajowych, które wynosi ponad 11 ofiar śmiertelnych średniorocznie na 100 km drogi, a istotny wpływ na to ma duże natężenie ruchu i brak dostatecznej separacji ruchu lokalnego od tranzytowego. Najniższe wartości wskaźnika zagrożenia są na drogach gminnych (0,13 ofiar śmiertelnych na 100 km drogi), czyli przy niskim natężeniu ruchu. Bardzo niepokojące są dane wskazujące na rosnącą liczbę wypadków i ich ofiar na drogach powiatowych.

The paper presents the results of analysis of changes to the number of accidents and indexes characterizing their scale of victims on the various road categories. Numerical characteristics have been defined, describing the current state of threat on the particular road categories in one province and they have been compared to the trends characteristic for the whole country. Values of indexes that characterize the accident threat in the road traffic for the period 2002 – 2010 have been considered. The year of 2002 has been assumed as the basis of the calculations. The highest threat occurs on the national roads (the average amounts to over 11 fatal victims a year per 100 km of the road). High traffic intensity and the lack of sufficient separation of local and transit traffic significantly affect that statistics. The lowest threat index values occur on the communal roads (0.13 fatal victims per 100 km of the road), that is at low traffic intensity. The data that shows the increasing number of accidents and victims on the district roads is very worrisome.
