The article presents a range of problems regarding changes in European higher education in the framework of Bologna Process. In particular, the article discusses the main assumptions of the process determining the creation of the European Area of Higher Education. Among them: the system of easily readable and comparable degrees and diplomas, system based on three main cycles, European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), promotion of students, teachers and researchers mobility, co-operation in education quality assurance. Poland has been participating in Bologna Process since 1999 and during this time many changes were implemented into civilian higher education system. However, the military higher education system is at the beginning of the process of indispensable changes that should be implemented until 2010. Dissemination of knowledge on Bologna Process in the military education system should contribute to the increase of understanding and acceptance of proposed changes thanks to which interrelations between Polish and foreign military academies and civilian universities will become stronger.
