Celem niniejszego opracowania jest zaprezentowani korzyści płynących z zastosowania technologii informatycznych do zarządzania utrzymaniem ruchu, w tym ze zwiększenia dostępności zasobów w systemach produkcyjno-logistycznych. Zastosowania IT wykazują pozytywną korelację z zyskownością przedsiębiorstwa i jego konkurencyjnością ogólnie i w zakresie utrzymania ruchu, jako że ten obszar obecnie uważa się za potencjalne źródło oszczędności i podwyższania poziomu obsługi klienta. Zatem, wdrażanie rozwiązań informatycznych, w tym e-utrzymania ruchu i inteligentnego utrzymania ruchu staje się coraz istotniejsze dla prawidłowego funkcjonowania w dynamicznym i złożonym środowisku rynkowym.

The goal of the paper is to present benefits emerging from application of information technology (IT) to maintenance management, especially focusing on obtained increased availability of resources in a production-logistics system. IT application is proved to have a positive correlation to company’s profitability and competitiveness in general and in maintenance specifically, as nowadays this area is believed to be the one enabling cost reduction and customer service level increase, effects the most expected in contemporary companies. Thus, implementation of IT solutions, including e-maintenance and intelligent maintenance, becomes more and more important for striving in dynamic and complex market environment.
