The Czech Republic as a Host Nation, its Armed Forces and also other ministries are obliged to support the Alliance forces’ operations and ensure appropriate support for coalition armed forces in case when they request such a support. In order to ensure an efficient course of Host Nation Support (HNS) planning and conducting, it is necessary to establish cooperation by Sending Nations (SN) with a contact centre in the Czech Republic before their armed forces are sent away. The main centre is the Czech Armed Forces’ Liaison Team which includes the following representatives: respective departments of the Ministry of Defence and the General Staff of Czech Armed Forces ; operational commands and assigned units of the Czech Armed Forces ; state administration and local government. A major condition to ensure efficient functioning of contact points is to minimise their number and equipping the assigned officers with sufficient authorisation enabling representing the Czech Republic in respective area. Respective ministries of the Czech Republic government define in their competences the places of contact to coordinate and render HNS services. The assigned officers are responsible for the coordination of HNS services within their ministries and simultaneously for cooperation in rendering HNS services with other Czech Armed Forces’ bodies. According to appropriate arrangements based on the Main Contact Centre’s orders, further contact points are organised on lower levels in order to establish direct contact between sent units and HNS provider. Stationary military institutions in the Czech Republic are employed for their organisation. Depending on needs, basing on the Main Contact Centre’s decisions, there are particular facilities and equipment assigned to render services for coalition forces. Stationary military facilities on the Czech Republic’s territory are mainly used for this purpose.
