Cyber Privacy and Manipulation with Regard to the Question of Security

Together with access to communication developments of the 21st century, we have to face new problems connected with privacy in the Internet and journalistic reliability. In the face of Russia’s aggressive politics and terrorist threats arising from the unyielding activity of the Daesh terrorist group, it seems that the issue of anonymity in the Internet warrants thorough examination. On the one hand, aware of our rights, we want to preserve our privacy, and on the other, we expect the state to ensure our safety. In order to reconcile the two aspects, we need to take up a discussion on the society’s awareness as regards the safe use of the Internet, including sharing sensitive data and information manipulation. In times when data of various nature is easily available, we need to analyze all the related benefits and threats, especially as citizens of an independent state. The author discusses the aforementioned issues in a polemical tone, basing on his own experience.
