Problems of War and Peace in the Church Social Studies
Języki publikacji
Abstrakty
The position of the Church included in its social studies towards war and peace has been presented in this article. The church recognises peace as a fundamental value, war as a necessary element of defending defined values, although war itself does not hold a value. The social studies of the Church claim that peace is a harmonious co-existence and cohabitation of national and state societies in the framework of an international society. Thus peace is not only a certain state but also a dynamic process. The condition for peace is to comply with natural laws of state and national societies in the framework of an international society. The Church, defining war as combat conducted by equal and sovereign states, developed a notion of, so called, ethically justified war. Its most important elements are a good intention and a right cause.
