Od wielu miesięcy trwa dyskusja na temat reformy polskiej gospodarki wodnej. W tle pobrzmiewają groźby Komisji Europejskiej, dotyczące opóźnień kraju w implementowaniu unijnych dyrektyw. Szczególnie narażony na krytykę jest nasz proces wdrażania Ramowej Dyrektywy Wodnej. Może więc warto przyjrzeć się tym krajom, które są uważane za inicjatorów dyrektywy i które mają sprawdzone przez lata zasady gospodarowania wodami. Jednym z nich jest z pewnością Francja należąca do najzamożniejszych krajów świata, rozciągająca się między Morzem Śródziemnym, kanałem La Manche, Morzem Północnym i Zatoką Biskajską.

The reform of the Polish water management has been discussed for many months, accompanied by threats of the European Commission concerning delays in implementing the EU directives. Our process of the Water Framework Directive implementation is particularly exposed to criticism. It may be therefore worth looking at those countries that are considered to be the directive’s initiators and that have roven their water management principles in practice. One of them is France, belonging to the wealthiest counties in the world, with its territory extending between the Mediterranean Sea, the English Channel, the North Sea and the Bay of Biscay.
