National character is one of the most important and even fundamental categories of the nation and the state which has a predominant or at times decisive impact of the nation’s lot - prosperity or poverty, survival or fall. It is also one of the basic determinants of behavior at the international politics arena. Therefore there is a necessity to systemise the knowledge on the national character, make an analysis and synthesis of Poles' positive and negative features in the national security context as well as generalise these national characteristics that directly or indirectly influence creating Poland’s national security in the 21st century.
