W artykule dokonano analizy potrzeb i oczekiwań społecznych dotyczących oświetlenia dla czterech wybranych obszarów funkcjonalnych: dla obszarów mieszkalnych, dróg, dla terenów rekreacyjnych oraz centrów miast, zabytków i obiektów architektonicznych. Omówiono każdy z obszarów, wskazując podobieństwa i różnice w tych oczekiwaniach. Wskazano również jak, przy wykorzystaniu współczesnych rozwiązań w zakresie oświetlenia miejskiego, można te oczekiwania spełnić.

The article analyzes social needs and expectations concerning public lighting in four selected functional areas: residential areas, roads, recreational areas and city centers, monuments and architectural objects. All functional areas are discussed and similarities and differences in these expectations are identified. The article also presents how these expectations can be met with the use of modern lighting technologies.
