Transport plays a key role in every field of economy, including agriculture. Hauling service in the latter refers to internal transport in the household (usually performed by the farmer himself) and external transport outside the household or farm, which is performed mainly by carriers who have suitable heavy goods vehicles and/or specialist means of transport. The theoretical part of this study was based on subject literature in sustainable development, logistics and transport; the empirical part was based on survey research conducted among 172 farmers. The aim of the study was to show the nature of external transport in agriculture in the context of sustainable development. Most of those surveyed have admitted that they use external transport companies due to not having a suitable means of transport. The frequency of such use of transport is several times a year. The haulage primarily includes loose crops, comprehensive transport services for farmers and livestock transport.

Transport pełni ogromne znaczenie w każdej dziedzinie gospodarki, w tym także w rolnictwie. Obsługa przewozowa w tej dziedzinie gospodarki odnosi się do transportu wewnętrznego w gospodarstwie (realizowanego zwykle przez samego rolnika) oraz transportu zewnętrznego, poza gospodarstwem, który jest prowadzony głównie przez przewoźników posiadających stosowne samochody ciężarowe i specjalistyczne środki przewozu. Teoretyczną część opracowania oparto o literaturę przedmiotu z zakresu rozwoju zrównoważonego, logistyki i transportu, a część empiryczną o badania ankietowe przeprowadzone pośród 172 rolników. Celem badania było ukazanie natury transportu zewnętrznego w rolnictwie w kontekście zrównoważonego rozwoju. Większość badanych rolników przyznała, iż korzysta z zewnętrznych usług transportowych z powodu braku odpowiedniego środka transportu. Częstotliwość korzystania z tego typu przewozów to kilka razy w roku. Przewozy dotyczą przede wszystkim ziemiopłodów sypkich, kompleksowych usług transportowych dla rolników oraz przewozu zwierząt.
