Polish power engineering in European Union : opportunities and threats

Abstrakty
Szybko rosnące zapotrzebowanie na nośniki energii, uzależnienie od transportu, coraz większa światowa konkurencja i obserwowane ogromne zmiany klimatyczne doprowadziły do refleksji i pytań - jak zapewnić bezpieczeństwo zasilania oraz ochronę środowiska naturalnego? I jak obniżyć cenę energii ale jednocześnie zapewnić nowe inwestycje? W odpowiedzi na te pytania zaczęto szukać innych źródeł energii uwzględniających potrzeby gospodarcze, społeczne oraz wymogi ochrony naszego środowiska, a także liberalizować rynek. Pomysłami na "dzisiaj" są źródła energii odnawialnej, mającej szerokie poparcie w wielu krajach Unii Europejskiej jak i w organach Wspólnoty. Czy jest to jednak możliwe do realizacji i jak te problemy wyglądają z polskiej perspektywy?
The quickly growing demand for energy carriers, dependence upon transport, constantly growing global competition and observed deep climatic changes have raised concerns and questions how to secure power supply and at the same time - how to protect the environment. Next question is how to bring down price for energy and at the same time - provide new investments. An attempt to answer these questions marked the beginning of a search for other sources of energy, while taking into account economic and social needs as wll as requirements laid down by protections of the environment, combined with deregulation of the market. Today's ideas for solution of these problems point to the sources of renewable energy, promoted in many Member States of the European Union and widely supported by the administrative bodies of the Community. However, the question that remains to be solved is whether it is feasible and how we perceive these problems from the Polish perspective.
