The paper presents the evolution of tasks which are accomplished by contemporary naval forces. The author provides the draft showing the naval involvement during the Balkan crises. It is the base to present the capabilities of the naval power during future wars and conflicts. The author underlines the flexibility and endurance of the navy and legal order of seas which allows presenting power at littoral waters without any formal obstacles.
