The high-quality development of the manufacturing industry has been regarded as a promising sign for a country’s industrial upgrade, which will gather new momentum for the economy to grow. This study evaluated the digitalization of manufacturers in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (the GBA) by examining the effect of the digital economy on the manufacturing industry. The researchers employed the entropy approach and developed a five-index evaluation to assess the high-quality development of the digital economy and manufacturing industry. The results showed that the digital economy promotes high-quality development of the manufacturing industry in four ways: factor empowerment, platform empowerment, technology empowerment, and integration empowerment. In the case of the Pearl River Delta, the economy has been enriched and boomed by the high-tech and business cultural heterogeneity.
Wysokiej jakości rozwój przemysłu wytwórczego jest postrzegany jako obiecujący znak modernizacji przemysłowej kraju, który nada gospodarce nowy impuls do wzrostu. W niniejszym badaniu oceniono stopień cyfryzacji producentów w regionie Greater Bay Area (GBA) obejmującym Guangdong, Hongkong i Makau, analizując wpływ gospodarki cyfrowej na przemysł wytwórczy. Naukowcy zastosowali podejście entropijne i opracowali pięciostopniową skalę oceny wysokiej jakości rozwoju gospodarki cyfrowej i przemysłu wytwórczego. Wyniki pokazały, że gospodarka cyfrowa sprzyja wysokiej jakości rozwojowi przemysłu wytwórczego na cztery sposoby: poprzez wzmocnienie czynników, platform, technologii i integracji. W przypadku delty Rzeki Perłowej gospodarka została wzbogacona i rozkwitła dzięki zróżnicowaniu kulturowemu w zakresie zaawansowanych technologii i biznesu.
