The paper presents the results of pump working times measurements. The pumps are used for pumping wastewater in municipal sewage systems. These objects belong to devices whose operating parameters, in particular, the working time depends on many factors. Probability density distributions were calculated, and then approximated using Fisk model. Difference of pump working time were also evaluated and approximated using Cauchy model. It was found that this model gives a very good statistical properties of the pump work time difference. It can therefore be used in an automatic fault diagnosis system of pumps in sewage systems.
