The main objective of the study is to identify the negative effects on soldiers being on duty abroad. The starting point for the analysis is to characterize a number of stressors arising from the specifics of the profession of a soldier. In addition, the article describes physical and mental effects, i.e. post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as difficulties associated with the life of injured veterans in the context of social structures.
