Ubezpieczenie wypadkowe w większości krajów Unii Europejskiej odgrywa podstawową rolę w zwalczaniu zagrożeń zawodowych i ograniczaniu ich skutków finansowych, jak również w ograniczaniu cierpień osób poszkodowanych i zapewnieniu im, oraz ich rodzinom, środków egzystencji. W artykule przedstawiono ogólne zasady funkcjonowania ubezpieczenia wypadkowego w krajach Unii Europejskiej.

In most European Union Member States, accident insurance is a fundamental measure of controlling occupational hazards and their financial consequences as well as reducing the suffering of injured persons. Furthermore, accident insurance is to provide accident victims and their families with means of subsistence. The article presents the scope, organization forms, some basic objectives and financing rules of accident insurance systems in European Union Member States.
