Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie wyników badań poświęconych ubóstwu wodnemu w województwie śląskim. Posłużono się w nich perspektywą genderową, wychodząc z założenia, że różnica w zarobkach między kobietami i mężczyznami będzie jednym z głównych czynników determinujących skalę ubóstwa wodnego. Tego typu korelacja powinna być widoczna w szczególności w województwie śląskim, gdzie różnice w zarobkach kobiet i mężczyzn należą do największych w Polsce. Uzyskane wyniki badań przeczą jednak przyjętemu założeniu. Choć różnice w odpowiedziach pomiędzy gospodarstwami, których głową byli mężczyźni, a gospodarstwami, których głową były kobiety, różniły się, nie były istotne statystycznie. Dają jednak obraz sytuacji wodnościekowej gospodarstw domowych województwa śląskiego wart przytoczenia.

The aim of the article is to present the results of research on water poverty in the Silesian Voivodeship. The study used the gender perspective, assuming that the wage gap between men and women would be one of the main determinants of the water poverty scale. Such correlation should be particularly visible in the Silesian Voivodeship, where the gender pay gap is among the highest in Poland. However, the results of the research do not confirm the adopted thesis. Although there are differences in answers between the male-headed and the female-headed households, they were not statistically significant. However, they provide a picture of the water situation of the Silesian households which is worth presenting.
