Purpose: The purpose of the article is to analyze the operation of freight transport in the cross-border area of the Silesia Voivodeship in the context of the existence of the Baltic-Adriatic transport corridor. An additional objective is to indicate the priority areas of the corridor under consideration, as well as key actions to improve the functioning of freight transport in the area under consideration. Design/methodology/approach: The article was mainly based on a thorough analysis of quantitative and qualitative data contained in documents made available by the European Union institutions and reports. Findings: Identification of the most significant steps the authors consider to be taken to improve freight transport in the analyzed region, which is considered by the authors to be priority actions. Originality/value: The originality of the article consists in carrying out a qualitative assessment of the condition of the freight transport infrastructure in the context of the functioning of the selected transport corridor and identifying bottlenecks in its functioning.
