Celem pracy było porównanie stabilności filmu łzowego na soczewkach Air Optix Night&Day nowej i starej generacji aplikowanych w trybie ciągłym. W eksperymencie wzięło udział 11 osób. Do nieinwazyjnego pomiaru filmu łzowego wykorzystano szybki wideokeratometr na bazie komercyjnego instrumentu Medmont E300. Pomiary przeprowadzono w czterech etapach noszenia soczewki – 30 minut po założeniu soczewki, po 24 godzinach, po tygodniu i po miesiącu. W wyniku przeprowadzonego eksperymentu stwierdzono, iż istnieje statystycznie znacząca różnica w stabilności filmu łzowego pomiędzy soczewką Air Optix Night&Day nowej i starej generacji w pierwszym pomiarze i w pomiarze przeprowadzonym po miesiącu, w pozostałych dwóch pomiarach stabilność filmu łzowego była porównywalna na obydwu soczewkach.

The aim of the study was to compare tear film stability on Air Optix Night&Day contact lenses dedicated for continuous wear. Eleven subjects participated in the experiment. A high speed videokeratoscope based on a commercial Medmont E300 was used for noninvasive measurement of tear film. The measurements were carried out in four stages of contact lens wear: 30 minutes after lens application, 24h later, and then after 7 and 30 days. Statistically significant differences were found in tear film stability between Air Optix Night&Day lenses of the new and old generation measured in the first day after application and after 30 days of wear. In the other two considered measurements the tear film stability was similar.
