The article refers to evolution of American nuclear forces, called strategic triad. Against expectations, the end of the Cold War did not mean elimination of powerful arsenals of this weapon. The President Bush's administration introduced many changes to the idea of maintenance of nuclear arsenals: different system architecture, commencement of works on new concepts, and announcement of minimal reduction of a nuclear potential.
