Prediction of residual life of structural components spent on the stable crack growth needs a crack growth analysis starting from an initial crack-like flaw. The method of crack growth analysis based on stress intensity factors calculated using point-load weight function is presented in the paper. Especially the influence of the crack contour approximation method on the calculated fatigue life is discussed. Examples of semi-elliptical surface crack growth analysis under arbitrary mode I stress fields are presented in the paper.
