Navigators use middle latitude sailing first of all for planning passage of ship from one position to another. This method is ysed for obtaining distances and directions between points of turn. It`s more comfortable in usage than graphic methods, where mentioned parameters are taken off from chart in Mercator projection. It has also superiority over another analytic method in use to this effect - Mercator sailing - which is that, used formulas are considerably more simple - are easier to use and lead more quickly to the aim. Simplification of formulas introduces error to results, what is the interest of this paper. Obtaining distance and direction between positions along loxodrome is called second problem of rhumb sailing and is solved practically at tracing every new rout of ship. In spite of universality of usage, middle latitude sailing did not wait oneself elaboration of errors of method. This paper tries to fill this gap. Also first problem of rhumb sailing, which can be solved by middle latitude sailing was taken into account in this work. This problem concern analytic method of dead reckoning and practically, due to continous accessibility of true position, is being solved on ship only in particular situations nowadays. Present work is part of elaboration, which aggregates diagrams for estimation of middle latitude sailing errors, adapted to utilization in navigational practice.
