The paper presents the issue of modelling a vertical dislocation of the ground, which has been examined in the linear and nonlinear aspects with regard to the method of using a defined reference system. The model of dislocation, presented in an exponential form, has been used to describe the trajectory of nonlinear points movement. Considering the significant differences between the dislocation of the linear and nonlinear system, the nonlinear system has been verified by the aspect of nonlinearity its variety and nonlinearity its parameters' curves. According to the way of using the reference system, the models of linear dislocation have not shown any significant differences.
