The description of the new in-line system for deposition of thin films on large area substrates is presented in the paper. Some details used for increasing productivity, like rotatable cylindrical magnetron are shown. Also several batch vacuum installations are reviewed. The construction of such coaters as well as its application in different industrial processes is discussed.
