The paper presents first considerations on applications of the observed gravity vertical gradient to the solution of Bjerhammar`s gravimetric problem. Author has practically tested three different approaches to the problem in the geodetic test field near Grybow (Cracow discrict). The test field is situated in sub-mountainous region of Carpathians. It consists of more than 50 stations with observed gravity gradient. Anomalies of this gravity characteristics reach there up to 1000 E. The application of directly measured vertical gravity gradient for determination of reduced gravity anomalies supports better convergence of solution than classical pure sophistic approach.
