An outlook on long-term and nowadays seismicity in Bulgaria

This paper presents the authors' outlook on the seismicity in Bulgaria since ancient times till the present. It deals with macroseismic (non-instrumental) as well as instrumental datasets. After renovating the basic Bulgarian earthquake catalogue with recently published results, the long-term seismicity and seismic influence to this country is systematized. Nowadays low to moderate seismic activity registered in conditions of quite good covering of Bulgarian territory is discussed in several aspects of scientific and social importance.
