Project CERGOP is the main project realised in international cooperation of the European countries in the frame of the scientific programme of seventeen countries assembled in the CEI (Central European Initiative) WG Science and Technology Section C "Geodesy". The objective of the first phase of the international geodynamic project CERGOP (Central Europe Regional Geodynamics Project) was the establishment and maintenance of the Central European GPS Reference Network (CEGRN). The CEGRN consists now of more than 60 sites located on the territory of 14 countries The CEGRN reference network of the first phase of the project concluded in 1998 consisting of 31 reference points was performed with an accuracy of 2-4 mm in horizontal coordinates and 4-8 mm in vertical coordinates. Since 1994 four epoch five-day monitoring satellite GPS CEGRN campaigns of the first phase of the Project have been carried out in yearly intervals (in 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997); in 1999 and in 2001 two next campaigns of the second phase of the Project were organised and successfully performed. The results of periodic positioning of reference network points enabled us to determine the 3D geotectonic velocity vectors covering the Central European Region.
