Growing accuracy of the different kind of equipment makcs us to consider in the observations the small effects which were neglecting so far. One of these effects is the tidal excitation of the atmosphere. The ocean tides known as the ocean level rise and fall tvice a day have been known from the time immemorial. The changes of the gravity and the vertical deflections are observed at many of the tidal stations placed around the world. This paper describes the third kind of the response for the tidal affection - the atmospberic tides. It was assumed that the atmosphere reaction to the tidal influence is accompanied by the barometer indication system changes. So the changes of the atmosphere pressure and temperature was analysed to find the tidal signal within. The analysis proved the theoretical assumptions which divided the atmospheric tides into two groups; the thermal and the gravitational one. The first is connected to the thermal activity of the Sun, the second depends on the gravitational influence of the Moon and the Sun bodieEarth, ocean and atmosphere. The seasonal the atmospheric tides parameters were also investigated and revealed the dependence on the seasons especially in the Sun waves S1, S2 and S3. The paper presents also local model of the atmospheric tides evaluated for the area of Poland.
