The paper presents an attempt undertaken in order to determine the covariance function of the vertical gravity gradient anomaly in local conditions. The attempt was undertaken in the great hall of the main building of the Warsaw University of Technology, on an area of 1100 m2. The purpose of our research was to make the statistical treatment of the gravify data in local conditions, there as a chamber gradientometry. The Jordan-Markov model for analytical approximation of the local empirical covariance function has been applied.
