The flux-gate compass is one of the most modern types of marine magnetic compasses. The instrumental error in these compasses is specified as 0.1 degree. The paper presents some results of investigations into errors in the flux-gate compasses. The total errors in the flux-gate compasses are specified in the final part of the investigations. Magnetic variation and roli and pitch of the ship appear to be the most important sources of errors.
