Abstrakty
The paper describes a vacuum equipment and testing methodes for of the thermionic emission from cathodes in the environment similar to the working conditions m real TWT's. The cathode under test is mounted in a vacuum container and the emission is measured in diode circuit. There are possibilities for the measurements of gas presure inside the container, pirometric temperature measurements as well as the I/T characteristic (Miram curves). The max DC current, limited by anode admission, is 80 mA. To estimate the emission properties of the tested cathodes the Bodmer, Cattelino and Miram test methodes were adapted. Using the described test methodes the thermionic emission of sintered oxide cathodes and impregnated dispenser cathodes of type B and M was investigated.
