Single - phase commutator machines are usualy working in high speed and therefore the vibration analysis becomes to be very important. It has been observed, that the machine resonance range should be under the nominal speed and therefore the problems of starting procedure increase. The contribution deals with a problem of single - phase AC commutator motor mechanical resonance. The magnolie forces between slator and rotor were taken into consideration during analysis. The relation between forces of magnetic origin and of excitation current and nonuniform air - gap between the poles and rotor surface was analysed.
