Evaluation of the information technologies utilizing the functional prototype of the agent system
Języki publikacji
Abstrakty
In this article we present the current state of developing the agent system for the evaluation of the information technologies (called MASIT). For the time being it is a functional prototype encompassing agents, knowledge base and ontology. Its domain is defined as the project management technologies, which are mostly focused on the information systems development. Those technologies are represented by the software applications such as IBM Rational Portfolio Manager, Rational Method Composer, Rational Unified Processes and Microsoft Project. A need for evaluating informational technologies is discussed in the initial paragraphs. The main reason stated are the information needs of a project manager when deciding what tools to use during the project life-cycle. Further, a general Structure of an agent system is specified. Managing agent, searching agent, reasoning agent and auxiliary agent are introduced along with their functionality. The main part of the article focuses on the experiments de-signed for the purpose of verifying the completeness and correctness of the developed prototype. The first experiment deals with the assessment of the basic functionalities. The second should answer the question, how the system would react on adding the knowledge on the new functionality of the project management technology. The third experiment deals with the most complex - at least so far - knowledge Structure of the system: context and should answer the questions: how to store context knowledge and how to add facts or rules about the new context. In conclusion, authors point out dilemmas one should face during the development process of the MASIT and expect also to elaborate a general model of those activities. The overall concept of this system is being developed since early 2007 and has been presented in various papers prior to this article. Therefore some issues were omitted due to the limited space.
