The paper discusses three key issues common to all methods of morphing, i.e. a search for suitably defined warp functions for source and target images, specification of the features shared by these images, and selection of transition functions. The discussion is preceded by a brief survey of warping methods. The three issues under discussion are analysed on the example of the field morphing method.
