GIS allows performing different analysis, even using data from other areas, such as demographic data. The bases of GIS are maps graphical representation of real world. Model of electrical network, based on object - oriented approach, is proposed in this paper. Relations between objects - elements of electrical network were taking into account. Presented model is oriented for medium/low voltage network, which is operated by power distributions companies. Basic functions of GIS systems in power distribution companies, which should be taken into account, are described. Some simplifications of the model go to rapid GIS implementation. Methods of data acquisition are shortly described. as an illustration of model implementation.
