W pracy dokonano przeglądu literatury dotyczącej biologicznych, chemicznych i termicznych metod utylizacji polichlorowanych bifenyli, które zostały zakwalifikowane przez Komisję Europejską jako odpady niebezpieczne a tym samym wymagają zastosowania specyficznych metod składowania i destrukcji.

The aim of the work was to review the biological, chemical and thermal degradation methods of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) listed as the hazardous wastes by the European Commission. After qualification to the dangerous waste their utilization requires following the restricted rules of the disposal and destruction.
