The Institute of Internal Combustion Engines developed a concept and a system of fuelling CI engines with an improved mechanism of spraying. According to the concept, fuel spraying is facilitated by gas (exhaust gas or air) dissolved in diesel fuel. The effervescence effect that occurs during gas dissolution assists fuel spraying. Currently, a full-scale research has been conducted in order to evaluate the applicability of the improved fuel spraying in injection systems. The article presents the results of research on the influence of exhaust dissolved in diesel fuel on toxic components emission. The tests were conducted with the use of a one-cylinder self-ignition research engine S.B 3.1 with a combustion chamber in the piston head and direct injection of CR type. The following variables were measured: basic engine working parameters, the course of pressure in the combustion chamber and before the injector, and the emission of the main exhaust gas components, such as HC, CO2, CO, NOx, and FSN. The diagrams present the results of tests at two determined rotation speeds. The conclusions encompass the assessment of ecological indicators of motor operation fueled with exhaust gas dissolved in diesel fuel in comparison to pure diesel fuel.
