The Institute of Technical Textiles "Moratex" in Łódź bas been carrying out scientific and research works for many years in order to make modern personał protections against bullet fired from firearm [1]. Bullet proof vests with protective elements in the form of ballistic inserts are the most popular among them. Standard ballistic insert is made of multilayer fabric compositions of synthetic fibres of high strength. The vests are put to many tests to prove their usable and protective qualities. An evaluation of bullet resistance is the basic test, which is carried out in accredited laboratories. The Institute of Technical Textiles "Moratex" has a Ballistics Laboratory, which bas a certificate of accreditation of the Polish Centre of Tests and Certification to carry out resistance tests of protective products.
