Volumes exist on the intricacies of successful multi-national and coalition operations, but what, exactly, are the true practical considerations at the execution level? While political capital of international cooperation and coalition partnerships receive the most popular and media attention, and the strategic and operational level considerations of senior military planners receive the most scholarly and professional analysis, the mechanics of tactical integration of multinational partners (both military and non-military) remains a mystery to those for whom it is most important: soldiers, sergeants, Iieutenants, and captains who actually implement the coalition partnership. Engineer operations in southeastem Afghanistan in 2007 and 2008 provide an excellent ease study for the examination of the challenges, solutions, effects, and recommendations for executing integrated coalition missions below the company level. This example provides a detailed view of integration, problem-solving, and micro-diplomacy by soldiers and junior leaders among American, Polish, Korean, and Afghani engineers.

Ten przykład daje szczegółowy obraz integracji, rozstrzygania problemów i mikro-dyplomacii wśród żołnierzy i młodszych oficerów amerykańskich.
