First 10 years in the history of the Polish People's Republic's Navy, which spanned the 1945-1955 cycle, is substantial time in a long, since lasting through 80 years, history of that specific type of armed forces. Those historians who take an interest in our marine type of services into two characteristic stages divide the period presented in this very article: the first one 0spanning between 1945 and 1950; the second - from 1950 till 1955. Both were extremely pivotal at forming and a build-up of the PP R 's Navy for the opening stage made the time of erection for the marine forces compatible with development of all the armed forces. It was also the time when one had to labour under deficiency in well-qualified officer's commanding cadre. Those days the main role relating to shaping Soviet officers, who served in the PP R, played the operational and technical thought's Navy. Apart from that, regulations as well as traditions in this kind of services fulfilled the national appearance. The latter stage was a season when the authority in Polish Navy undisputedly belonged to the Soviets and the idea of its development complied with the patterns contemporarily in existence in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics' Fleet. Then, also, the particular type of armed forces commenced to discharge auxiliary duty towards troops. The birth of the Warsaw Pact in 1955 gave rise to yet another stage in the history of the P PR's Navy that rolled on up till 1989. The USSR's war doctrine dominated throughout the countries that made for the alliance and national doctrines must have fallen into line.
