The paper presents a method allowing to determine water hammer pressure in thick-walled closed conduits. This method may be employed in hydrodynamic calculations and strength analyses in the case of hydraulic installations which are part of high-pressure hydraulic systems. The results of calculations concerning simple water hammer pressure are compared with the results obtained on the basis of formulas derived earlier by other authors, and the results of measurements.
