Po ustanowieniu szeregu wymiarowego ISO w 1964 r. dla kontenerów wydawało się, że proces standaryzacji został zakończony. Jednak praktyka ostatnich lat wykazała, że tak popularne 20' i 40' kontenery ISO nie zawsze spełniają stawiane im wymagania. W artykule przedstawiono tendencje rozwoju wymiarów kontenerów, nowe istniejące na świecie rozwiązania w porównaniu z dotychczas stosowanymi.

After the ISO dimension series for containers had been established in 1964 it seemed that the standardisation process was over. Yet the practical experience of recent years has shown that the popular 20' and 40' ISO containers do not always meet their requirements. The article presents trends in the development in the development of container dimensions, new solutions existing in the world as compared to those applied so far.
