The influence of electric field on the ignition of pulverized coal

The results of preliminary laboratory studies of the influence of corona discharge on the ignition temperature of pulverized coal are presented in the paper. The experimental investigations have been performed in the electrically heated Greenwald-Godbert apparatus in which the corona discharge generating electrodes were installed. The experiments have been carried out by measuring the ignition temperature of dust cloud as the function of voltage between the electrodes in the furnace. The discharge voltage has been varied in the range of 0-7 kV. The obtained results of measurements showed, that corona discharge is of no great importance to ignition temperature of pulverized coal.
