Abstrakty
Interaction between the chemical reaction and the flowfield within supersonic combustors were experimentally evaluated. By changing the flow pass configuration, both mixing- and reaction-rate-controlling mode were observed. The mode change was associated with the generation of so-called precombustion shock, which enhance the reaction to attain "fast-chemistry condition". This flowfield was modeled with a one-dimensional kinetic code, and effects of the combustor geometry on the shock generation were evaluated.
