In the paper a concept of a simplified assesssment method of amount of nitric oxides emitted by a ship diesel engine is presented together with preliminary investigations carried out to verify the proposed concept. The research was based on the requirements of IMO Technical Code on limitation of NOx emitted from ship diesel engines.
