The author of the paper presents current trends and perspectives for the plastic pipes industry development, basing of the survey performed for the Borealis concern. In order to picture the situation in this production sector research results are displayed focused on the construction market in Poland and in Europe during the period of economic as well as future years. The area of marine and land construction in Poland has been steadily increasing since 2005, leaving behind other European countries.
